Ogier is one of the top producers in Chateauneuf du Pape which has been the preferred recreational area for the popes from the 14th century (thereby the name "Pape").
The goal was to develop a brand identity and packaging design which reflected a traditional, conservative, classic and french wine language.

We needed to create a visual resemblance to the existing and established products from Ogier, the area and it´s history. Research of their existing labels led us to old biblical illustrations in color and elements from gothic church architecture which were redrawn by hand (ink on paper) and tailored to the format of the packaging.

Sebastian Bredal, one of nearly 300 Masters of Wine in the world, contacted us in order to create a brand identity for a collection of new world quality wines selected for the true character of the grapes and optimal potential in relation to the origin. Selected, outstanding producers were gathered under the umbrella named Master´s Collection.
Sebastian was profiled as a storyteller on all the products while the wine and origin needed to be a variable that would change from product to product. To present this visually we needed a flexible strategy where each product would stand out but also be clearly linked together.

The idea is based on applying an editorial layout to the packaging range, which is a familiar, easy and entertaining way of receiving information.

The facts about origin and the producer are presented on the two fronts of the box and divided in 8 chapters. We created a color code for each grape variety (here Cabernet Sauvignon) with informative extractions of the wine description on the short side of the package. A photo shoot was arranged during one of the visits to the Schug Winery to underline Sebastian´s passion for his trade and the authenticity of the concept.

We were asked to redesign this existing packaging fitted to a slimmer format as well as to incorporate the visual identity of Master of Wine Sebastian Bredal with the goal to increase shelf visibility and to reflect the premium quality of the product.
The original brand was created by our studio for the finish market in 2007 and since sales has been growing since its inception we preserved most of the existing brand elements to ensure recognizability.
The original artwork was hand drawn (ink on paper) and evokes associations to a traditional and opulent Italy. The ribbon was simplified and tuned into a more vivid red while we introduced a golden brown hot-foil in tone with the illustration to achieve a discreet and exclusive expression.

The goal was to create a product that visualized LOVE in a surprising way with a modern expression.

The visual concept is inspired by Russian Sonia Delaunay´s abstract painting from 1913
(Orphism art movement) and tailored to William Shakespear´s Romeo and Juliet; one of the most famous love stories ever. The play was originally staged in Verona, north Italy which is also the place where Cuvée S is produced today. The empty areas created between the dialogues are painted with aquarelle and are thought to reflect the tension and pauses in the dialogue between two people who meets for the first time.

The dialogue ends..
Juliet: O think´st thou we shall ever meet again?

Romeo: I doubt it not; and all these woes shall serve
For sweet discourses in our time to come

AWARD:
Cuvée S was nominated at Visuelt 2012

Launch of french red wine from Languedoc-Roussillon with total antioxidant level > 3mmol/100g.

We concentrate on the wine advantages transmitting quality and credibility through real and verifiable information instead of using austere traditional elements (i.e. coat of arms) achieving a fresh yet contemporary impact.
The antioxidants in wine are found in the skin, seeds and the stem of the grape. We decided to visualize this technical information through a drawing inspired by a late 1800 French botanical encyclopedia.

AWARD:
Santé was nominated at Visuelt 2008
